KWS makes new appointment to the Executive Board
The Supervisory Board of KWS, at its meeting of July 5, 2006, appointed
Dr. Léon Broers
as a deputy member of the Executive Board of KWS SAAT AG with effect from February 1, 2007. He will assume responsibility for the research and breeding portfolio on July 1, 2007 once he has completed a brief orientation phase.
Léon Broers is 45 years of age and is an agricultural science graduate specializing in plant breeding. He has gained international experience in this sector and is currently responsible as research manager at Nunhems Netherlands B. V. for breeding programs for a range of agricultural crop varieties grown largely in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Léon Broers actually joined Nunhems after an initial period with the KWS Group (1995 1997), during which time he developed the wheat breeding program at Lochow-Petkus GmbH in France. From 1989 until 1995 he spent time undertaking practical research at the international agricultural research institution CIMMYT (Centro Internacional de Mejoramiento de Maíz y Trigo) in Mexico.
