For Quality that’s Consistent and Reliable - Choose Cordiale

After two appalling harvests, when quality wheats have been difficult to find, Cordiale has again demonstrated the value of early maturity on farm.

When many growers were struggling to get later maturing types such as Solstice in the barn, Cordiale was safe and secure – cut and combined - before the mid-August rains wrecked many a breadmaking crop.

In-take data from one of the UK’s leading grain businesses, Openfield, clearly demonstrates the advantages of Cordiale in last year’s difficult harvest.

Across over 0.75 million tonnes of major milling varieties traded by the company after last harvest, Cordiale – harvested and sampled before and after the worst of the harvest weather – never lost its quality.

Even where the variety was still in the field after the 21st August, Cordiale held onto its Hagberg and specific weight, delivering the quality required by the milling industry.

Not surprisingly, backed by consistent delivery of quality premiums, more and more farmers every year are switching to Cordiale.

As a result, supported by buy-backs from millers including ADM, and providing yields on a par with Einstein, Cordiale is now the UK’s second most popular milling variety on farm.

With a UK market share that’s growing every year, Cordiale now represents 8% of UK wheats and is ready to combine at least 5 days earlier than Claire and just a tad behind Soissons.

While other new varieties have yet to be tested in any significant quantities, Cordiale is commercially proven and highly sought after.
