Application of Active Substances
The active substances are applied in a computerized plant with fluidized bed-driers. The last step of preparation is the application of the KWS specific orange colour.
This colour layer helps to avoid erosion of the active substances and they protect users and farmers against direct contact with the plant protection products.
Finally, the finished product is dried down to a humidity content of 7 % to conserve the seed quality until the moment it is sown. Each finished lot undergoes further quality controls, and additional chemical analysis makes sure that the quantity of active ingredients applied complies with the specific needs of the customer.
The processing technology used for all the steps, as well as the coating mass recipe are the result of many years of research and development. KWS has its own department for research and development of seed processing technology to continuously optimize processing quality and field emergence of a multitude of new varieties.
