Granary
Quality Spring Group 2
- High quality breadmaking wheat
- Very high yielding: late autumn and spring sown
- Short with stiff straw
- Robust disease resistance
- Good disease resistance
- Very wide sowing window
Granary is a very high yielding Group 2 breadmaking 'alternative' wheat, offering growers the opportunity to capture significant premium potential across a wide range of late season sowing dates.
Granary can be sown from late October right through to mid-April. Sown in the late autumn, an alternative wheat will invariably give higher yields than an equivalent winter wheat sown at the same time. Granary is no exception and captures both the yield and the end market advantage from late October through to April.
Additionally, Granary has robust establishment & seedling vigor available in addition to robust disease resistance.
From spring sowings, Granary provides high yields and maintains very high grain quality, ensuring access to the premium breadmaking markets.

Granary is an easy variety to manage in the field with short, very stiff straw. Autumn sown crops should only require a simple PGR input at GS 31-32, with an additional later season PGR only in very fertile situations. Spring sown crops may only require a PGR on fertile soils.

With autumn sowings, fungicide programmes can be kept simple, Septoria tritici pressure from delayed sowings will be relatively low and rust resistance is good. With spring sowings, a reduced rate fungicide programme may be considered, providing attention is paid to the
disease threats as the season progresses.
