Kadenz provides an excellent combination of high energy values and heavy yields, delivering high energy silage time after time. With a balanced starch content, Kadenz is ideal for rations involving a high proportion of maize silage, offering a very high digestible yield for maximum feed intake.


Maturity:
  • NIAB Group 7 (Favourable sites) Group 7 (Less Favourable sites)

Characteristics:

  • Massive yields (over 19t/ha of dry matter in NIAB trials)
  • Reliable harvest maturity (earlier than Award or NK Smile)
  • Stable in a wide range of conditions
  • Large plant type with early cob development
  • Consistently high yields on farm in 2006, 2007 and 2008!

Quality:

  • Benchmark for energy yields (over 200,000 MJ/ha on all NIAB sites)
  • Reliable starch contents (30% on all sites)

Recommendation:

Kadenz is suited to all mainstream maize growing areas. In addition, it can also be grown on intermediate sites as a medium early variety, where a wide harvest window is desired.  Kadenz has early cob development and stable ripening, producing reliable yields, year on year. Kadenz will perform best on light to medium soil types.
