KREEL

Stand Out in Any Maize Field

For heavy yields and early maturity Kreel stands out in any maize field!

Unlike the majority of NIAB Group 9 varieties, Kreel avoids the problem of a rapid dry down at harvest. This helps reduce the risk of acidosis from excess starch in rations with high maize inclusion.

Maturity:

  • Very Early – NIAB Group 9 (favourable sites) Group 9 (marginal sites)

Characteristics:

  • NIAB First Choice listing for 2011
  • Exceptional yields in its class (over 19 t/ha DM)
  • Slow dry down from 30%, preserving feed quality if harvest is delayed
  • Good early vigour (7.0)

Quality:

  • Leading energy values (equivalent to over 210,000 MJ/Ha)
  • Very high relative starch yield (6.3 t/ha)

Recommendation:

Kreel is one of the highest yielding varieties in all NIAB trials, between 2006 – 09. It is suitable for all less favourable sites offering very reliable maturity and excellent bulk yields.
