‘In the Spotlight’
At 106% of controls in National List Trials, Rivalda is the second highest yielding variety.
Rivalda is a candidate for Recommendation this year.
Compared to RL controls it is 6% higher yielding and some 10% ahead of Castille. So, not surprisingly, you’d expect Rivalda – as its name suggests, to be in the spotlight.
While not yet in the same trial series, Fitcon analysis confirms that if you like DK Cabernet then you’ll love Rivalda.
With a gross output on a par with DK Cabernet, Rivalda not only has all the agronomic strengths of DK Cabernet in the field, but it combines this with an earlier maturity and easier harvest.
Agronomics
Rivalda, like DK Cabernet is stiff strawed and resistant to lodging with an easily managed canopy. At 153 cm it is ten centimetres taller than Castille and very much in the DK Cabernet bracket. And with similar disease resistance scores, its earliness sets it apart.

So, if you are looking for a replacement variety for DK Cabernet with a slightly earlier harvest and flowering period let Rivalda take centre stage on your farm. Quite simply Rivalda puts all other varieties in the shade, including all hybrid candidates.
