United Kingdom Products Winter Wheat KWS Quartz

KWS Quartz

Pedigree: Cordiale x W97 (Savannah cross)

  • New provisional Group 2 milling wheat
  • Outstanding grain quality
  • High untreated yields
  • Very short, stiff straw
  • Superb disease resistance package

KWS Quartz (W148) is a new provisional Group 2 hard milling wheat, with good breadmaking quality, outstanding HFN and excellent specific weight.Yielding about the same as Einstein and Cordiale, it has especially high untreated yields. It has very short and very stiff straw, with a superb set of disease resistance scores – it is especially good for eyespot, with the Pch1 gene, and the rusts. This set of agronomic and disease characteristics may make Quartz a good choice for that important early sowing slot.
