High yielding Group 4

  • High yielding, distilling, soft Group 4
  • Strong disease resistance
  • Excellent untreated yield
  • Good grain quality
  • Early to mature
  • Short, stiff straw

Recommended for the North, Hardwicke is the shortest soft wheat on the Recommended List.

Early indications suggest Hardwicke is very resistant to sprouting. With a strong, all-round disease resistance package, including an 8 for yellow rust, Hardwicke will prove popular with the Northern farmer.

Breeder Comment:
Hardwicke was crossed and initially selected by Sejet in Denmark. It’s potential was recognised at KWS as a very short, stiff, clean, high yielding soft feed variety.
